    Enrollment - School Site Locator

    Parents and/or guardians who do not know their student's school of residence should check our School Site Locator to input their street address and learn the elementary school their child will attend. 

    Enrollment packets and information will continue to be available on the district website and each elementary school. Those who need assistance determining their school of residence can contact the neighborhood school site or the Student Services Department at (909) 580-5000 ext. 6580.

    Home Choice / Home School

    The purpose of the Home Choice Program is to provide an optional K - 8th grade public education for families educating their children at home. Home Choice is built around an independent study model and acts as a support system to parents. Home schooling parents desiring a complete curriculum, testing, tutoring, certificated teacher support and legal accountability will benefit from this program.     Apple Foundation Board seeks members

    The Colton Joint Unified School District APPLE Scholarship Foundation is seeking applicants for two vacancies on its Board of Directors. The foundation was formed by district employees in 2001 and over the years has awarded approximately $250,000 in scholarships to district students and children of district employees, through voluntary payroll deductions and other fundraising efforts.

    The seven-member board meets quarterly and currently has two openings. Community members and district employees are encouraged to apply. Applications should be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 17. For question, contact Katie Orloff at katie_orloff@cjusd.net or (909) 580-6503.

    California Career Center

    State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson launched a new Career and College Exploration and Planning Web portal at the end of the last school year. 

    The California Career Center at www.calcareercenter.org is available to help students navigate high school and explore/plan for post high school options.

    Golfers needed for scholarship fundraiser

    Golfers are needed to help raise scholarship funds to support the students of the Colton Joint Unified School District.  The APPLE Scholarship Foundation will hold its 8th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 11 at Shandin Hills Golf Club in San Bernardino.  The tournament is scheduled for a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is $80 for a single golfer or $300 for a foursome. Entry includes 18 holes of golf, a cart and the awards luncheon. All proceeds fund scholarships for district students.  For those interested in becoming a sponsor, donations may be tax deductible.     Parent Project Classes - FREE!

    Manuel Baltierra of the District Attorney's Office will be offering 3 Parent Project sessions during the 2012-2013 school year.  www.parentproject.com  The classes offer parents strategies for dealing with difficult children and teens. Each session lasts 10 weeks and are FREE!  Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 5-8 p.m.

    Facilities Construction Updates
    CJUSD's Capital Improvement Program, made possible by community-approved bond Measures B & G, continues to make great strides.  While students and teachers at Bloomington High School moved into their new Claude "Bud" Johnston Math & Science Buildings last October, the district's other three major projects continue to progress.

    Facilities Construction Projects 
    The 2012-13 school year marks the opening of two new school campuses in CJUSD, Grand Terrace High School and Joe Baca Middle School, as well as the new Math & Science Building at Colton High School. Together with Bloomington High School's Claude "Bud" Johnston Math & Science Building completed in fall 2011, this marks the fulfillment of four major construction projects funded by community-supported Measures B & G.

    Also during 2012-13, CJUSD will a number of modernization project at schools throughout the district, including Crestmore, Grant, Lincoln and Lewis elementary schools.

    Budget Update 
    The Board of Education and management continue to take steps to deal with our current economic crisis.  A Budget Update Newsletter  gives the latest information to keep the community informed. A FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section has also been posted with the opportunity to ask questions.
