Welcome to the HOME of the EXEMPLARY SOARING & EXPLORING EAGLE! We are looking forward to an AMAZING 2023-2024 school year at Grand Terrace Elementary School. 

The Common Core Standards continue to guide instruction and focus on preparing students to be College and Career Ready. Our Exploration and Innovation Wednesdays primarily focus on phenomena based exploration of science standards. We also continue to promote conceptual development of math strands to enhance core lessons. Personalized learning opportunities and coding instruction at each grade level, along with forming community partnerships, are the other avenues that we continue to refine. We also offer the DUAL IMMERSION Program to our Transitional Kindergarten through Second Grade students to develop competencies in two languages.

Our passionate and determined teachers strive to create a “Student Centered Personalized Learning Environment" by making learning relevant, engaging, challenging, interesting, inquiry-based, and related to real world applications. We want students to be immersed in learning, feel the connection between learning and their daily lives. Curiosity, Creativity, Control, Communication, and Collaboration are our guiding principles in this endeavor.

Along with success in academics, we also strive to instill a good moral character in our students. Our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program (PBIS) focuses on teaching students to SOLVE PROBLEMS, OWN THEIR BEHAVIOR, ACT RESPONSIBLY, and RESPECT THEMSELVES and OTHERS. Every Wednesday is a SUPERHERO DAY and we will focus on the 10 SUPERHERO POWERS to teach students to stand up against Bullying, Drugs, and Alcohol.

We are looking forward to a rewarding educational experience for our students.  Working together we will make a difference and will ensure that every child will achieve his/her full potential. Your support in making sure that homework is completed nightly, students arrive at school on time each day, and staying in contact with the teacher is critical. We also encourage you to join ELAC/SSC, attend conferences, parent workshops, school programs, school events, or be a volunteer. It sends a message to your child that you care about his/her education.

¡Bienvenido al HOGAR de los EJEMPLARES ÁGUILAS EXPLORADORAS Y EXPLORADORAS! Esperamos un año escolar INCREÍBLE 2023-2024 en la Escuela Primaria Grand Terrace.

Los Estándares Básicos Comunes continúan guiando la instrucción y se enfocan en preparar a los estudiantes para que estén listos para la universidad y la carrera. Nuestros miércoles de exploración e innovación se enfocan principalmente en la exploración basada en fenómenos de los estándares científicos. También continuamos promoviendo el desarrollo conceptual de los aspectos matemáticos para mejorar las lecciones básicas. Las oportunidades de aprendizaje personalizado y la instrucción de codificación en cada nivel de grado, junto con la formación de asociaciones comunitarias, son otras vías que continuamos perfeccionando. También ofrecemos el programa de INMERSIÓN DUAL a nuestros estudiantes de jardín de infantes de transición a segundo grado para desarrollar competencias en dos idiomas.

Nuestros maestros apasionados y decididos se esfuerzan por crear un "Ambiente de aprendizaje personalizado centrado en el estudiante" al hacer que el aprendizaje sea relevante, atractivo, desafiante, interesante, basado en la investigación y relacionado con aplicaciones del mundo real. Queremos que los estudiantes se sumerjan en el aprendizaje, sientan la conexión con el aprendizaje y su vida diaria. La curiosidad, la creatividad, el control, la comunicación y la colaboración son nuestros principios rectores en este esfuerzo.

Junto con el éxito académico, también nos esforzamos por inculcar un buen carácter moral en nuestros estudiantes. Nuestro Programa de Apoyo e Intervención de Conducta Positiva (PBIS) se enfoca en enseñar a los estudiantes a RESOLVER PROBLEMAS, SER PROPIOS DE SU COMPORTAMIENTO, ACTUAR RESPONSABLEMENTE, Y RESPETARSE A SI MISMOS Y A LOS DEMÁS. Todos los miércoles es un DÍA DE SUPERHÉROES y nos centraremos en los 10 PODERES DE SUPERHÉROES para enseñar a los estudiantes a enfrentarse al acoso, las drogas y el alcohol.

Esperamos una experiencia educativa gratificante para nuestros estudiantes. Trabajando juntos marcaremos la diferencia y aseguraremos que cada niño alcance su máximo potencial. Su apoyo para asegurarse de que la tarea se complete todas las noches, los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo todos los días y es fundamental mantenerse en contacto con el maestro. También lo alentamos a unirse a ELAC / SSC, asistir a conferencias, talleres para padres, programas escolares, eventos escolares o ser voluntario.
