• What is it?

    Google Apps for Education (GAFE) is an email, a calendar, and a drive-to store all your school work. It is a way to share and work together; it can be accessed anywhere with an internet connection, including smartphones and tablets. 



    Why

    • GAFE is aligned the the new Common Core State Standards

    • 72 of the the top 100 universities across the nation use GAFE

    • 5 million companies use GAFE as their communication system, that is 1 in 5 businesses

    • Your student no longer needs a flash drive. GAFE safely and securely stores files

    • Students can access and print their work from anywhere


    Access

    • Students can access their account from any web enabled device:

      • https://drive.google.com/a/my.cjusd.net

      • Their CJUSD username is their student ID number.

      • Their password is the same as their Zangle password.

      • Your student's e-mail address is the first three characters of their firstname the first initial of their last name Lastname and the last 4 digits of their student ID followed by @my.cjusd.net. For example Student "Firstname Lastname with an ID of 123456 will receive an GAFE e-mail address of firl4567@my.cjusd.net

        • As long as you have those three pieces of information you can log in to a student's account at any time.

    Safety & Security

    • Passwords are changed every summer to teach safe password habits and security.

    • Safely communicate with anyone at school (Classmates, Teachers, Librarians)

      • Juniors/Seniors will have access to outside emails for college and career purposes.

    • The default setting for all work is 'Private.'

    • All email messages are archived for accountability purposes.


    Tips!

    Remember, you can log in using your student's information at any time to view their work.
