• MLK Beat Cancer Extravaganze

Posted by Syreeta Afadonis on 1/15/2018

On Martin Luther King  Day, the GTHS Boys Basketball team held their first annual MLK BEAT CANCER EXTRAVAGANZA. It went very well. They were able to raise just over $1500, and we donated that $$ to the American Cancer Society.

The money raised will be used to transport cancer patients to and from their treatments who can't get there on their own.

    The following games were played:
    Corona vs. Carter
    Tahquitz vs. Cleveland (Reseda)
    Perris vs. Bloomington
    GT vs. Canyon Springs
    Summit  vs. Pacific
    JW North vs. Kaiser

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound defensive end helped the Titans to a 50-14 win over Kaiser that secured them a share of their first Sunkist League title.. He had five tackles, two for a loss, two quarterback pressures (one leading to an interception) and a fumble recovery and his presence was a factor in the team holding Kaiser’s Tyler Allgeier to a season-low 78 yards. On the season he has 52 tackles, 24 for a loss, 13 sacks, an interception, two fumble recoveries a forced fumble and two blocked punts.
