Mr. Chovan teaches U.S. History and AP U.S. History here at GTHS. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and Master of Arts in Education.   He has worked in the Colton Joint Unified School District since 2003. He spent 8 years teaching history at Ruth O. Harris Middle School in Bloomington before moving to GTHS when the school opened. He has taught You and the Law, World History, US History and AP US History since moving to the high school.  When he is not teaching he enjoys running, playing basketball, reading, and board games. He also loves spending time with his wife, Collette, and three boys, Aidan, Darren, and Colin. Aside from teaching, he is a club/class advisor.  What he loves most about teaching is being able to share stories about the past with students and making history relevant to their lives.
