Ransdell, Robert

Mr. Ransdell is a product of CJUSD and loves having the opportunity to return to his roots and share his experiences and passion with the new generation of students.  He attended Terrace View Elementary, Terrace Hills Middle School, and graduated from Colton High School in 2000.

He received a BA degree in Music Education from CSUSB in 2004 and gained a wealth of experience as both a performer and teacher while studying there.  He gained valuable education experience while working with programs at JW North High School and Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Murrieta Valley High School, and Serrano High School in Phelan before beginning employment at CJUSD.

As a performer, he has been on call lists to step in for performances for a variety of groups throughout Southern California and has had opportunities to perform on cruise ships, record albums, and worked with a number of artists including Bob Mintzer, Bill Watrous, and even B.B. King!

Mr. Ransdell began his career with CJUSD in 2005 returning to Terrace Hills Middle School to step in after his former teacher, Mitch Hovey, became assistant principal.  He has been heavily involved in various aspects of education and promoting the arts in CJUSD since then and has actively been involved in the San Bernardino County Music Educator’s Association.  Most recently, Mr. Ransdell just completed his term as president of SBCMEA and now sits on the board as Past President.

Mr. Ransdell moved to GTHS in 2012 when the school opened and has a great amount of energy and optimism regarding the growth and outlook of the music program at GTHS.
