Huesca, Karla

Karla Huesca began her teaching career in 1984. Karla earned her BA from CSUSB and her masters from Azusa Pacific University.   Karla currently teaches Spanish levels II and III She has taught a variety of subjects  at Colton High School and Grand Terrace High School. Karla has taught World History, United States History, Principles of Democracy, Economics, Spanish and Spanish Literature. She was the Activities Director at Colton High School for six years during which time she started many new traditions which continue today. Karla started the Renaissance program at Colton High which recognizes outstanding students and staff. In her early years at Colton High, she was the swim coach for several years.  Karla Huesca was nominated by Jerry Almendarez as an “Outstanding Educator” for Region 10 in April of 2000. She was also nominated by the students as the Outstanding Educator in 1999. Karla is passionate about teaching her students and has enjoyed her many years of service to the district.

She is currently the department chair of the World Language Department at GTHS.
