She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California State University Dominguez Hill and teaching credential from National University. She is currently finishing her Master of Arts in Special Education from National University. She has been teaching Special Education since 2000. She began as a Resource Specialist at Paramount High School-West Campus, a ninth grade campus. In 2006, Mrs. Borquez moved a South East High School, a comprehensive high school before relocating to the Inland Empire in 2010. At CJUSD, Mrs. Borquez has taught both RSP and SDC Mild/Moderate at the elementary level before returning to high school. She currently serves as the RSP Department Chair.
