Volunteer Opportunity

The Bloomington Branch would like to create a partnership with local schools for the Volunteer Program we offer to the youth in the community. The Volunteer Program is an opportunity for students to expand their volunteer services and in some cases prepare for their future. This is for them to prepare for college and/or entering the workforce. The Volunteer Program at the Bloomington Branch sets to create range of choices for its residents in how they live, work, and play.

The Bloomington Branch wants to invite student’s age 14 years old and older to fill out a volunteer application. The coordinator will review the application and follow-up with an invite to attend orientation. Because volunteers may be asked to assist with programs and organize the branch, all applicants are subjects for review.

The Volunteer Program at the Bloomington Library offers students the opportunity to learn a new skill or trade, learn about the library and gain customer service experience. Students can gain work experience, time management the Bloomington Library needs volunteer assistance running a children’s program and volunteers can get the experience because our programs are hands-on.

The Library is offering services to visit your school with classroom visits, Back to School Nights, PTA Meetings and Teacher/Staff Meetings upon an invite and approval with a minimum of 3 weeks’ notice. We can arrange for flyers to be dropped off or emailed to the school upon availability if requested.
